Hazard reduction burn near Fernleigh Track

Date posted: 20 May 2018

Fire and Rescue NSW will conduct a hazard reduction burn in bushland near Fernleigh Loop at Adamstown Heights on Thursday 24 May, weather permitting.

Motorists, as well as cyclists and pedestrians using the Fernleigh Track, are advised to slow down and take care if traveling through the area, as smoke, hot embers and heat may be present.

Residents in the area should take the appropriate precautions including keeping doors and windows closed, removing washing from clotheslines and ensuring any pets are in a protected area.

The burn may be rescheduled if weather conditions are unfavourable.

Residents should monitor the Fire and Rescue NSW Facebook page and Twitter feed, or listen to local radio stations for updates.
