Lake Mac Carols by Candlelight

Sunday 10 December, 11am-9pm

Speers Point Park, Creek Reserve Road, Speers Point

Carols by candlelight is an evening of fireworks, entertainment and special musical guests as the countdown to Christmas begins. There will be free kids' activities and entertainment from 1pm before our special musical guests, Grammy nominated artist Toni Childs and The Voice Australia winner Judah Kelly hit the stage at 6.30pm. Christmas ham raffles

Christmas ham raffles continue this weekend. Join Cardiff RSL Club on Sunday 10 December with tickets on sale from 3pm and drawn at 4.30pm. You can win some delicious full hams, half hams and roast pork. Find out more.

Santa Paws photos

Sunday 10 December, 10am-4pm

15 Stockland Drive, Glendale

Take your pet along to PETQuarters and have a photo taken with Santa Paws. For $20, you get a 6x8 photo, as well as a digital copy emailed to you. This also supports foster pets in need, with all profits going to Hunter Animal Rescue.

Christmas party and outdoor cinema

Head to Charlestown East Public School for a fabulous night of family fun and Christmas festivities under the stars. There will be kids games, face painting, popcorn, fairy floss, a barbeque and lots of giveaways. Santa is hoping to make a surprise visit, then kick back and enjoy the very funny Christmas film Arthur Christmas.

Diversity Day

Belmont Neighbourhood Centre, Belmont

Diversity Day is a social day in the community garden where the community can celebrate the diverse community of Belmont and its surroundings. There will be a gathering together in the beautiful community garden to enjoy the outdoors and do some simple gardening tasks. People of all skill levels are welcome to attend, including children. Junior Dolphins swim event

Charlestown Swim Centre, Charlestown

Swimming Australia is hosting a ‘Junior Dolphins’ event at Charlestown Swim Centre on Saturday, 9 December. Bring your little swimming legend along to improve their swimming skills with game-based learning and a chance to meet an Australian Dolphins Swim Team member, Olympian Kurt Herzog. Junior Dolphins are 8 years and younger, and must be registered with Swimming NSW via a swimming club, swim school or primary school.
