Council meeting preview – Monday 11 December

Council’s next meeting will take place on Monday 11 December, with a Standing Committee Meeting commencing at 5.30pm.

Some of the items listed for discussion include:

Morisset (32 Yambo Street) – proposed purchase

Council will consider authorising the purchase of 32 Yambo Street, Morisset, via private treaty if possible, before pursuing compulsory acquisition.

Coal Point (part 87 Skye Point Road) – proposed acquisition

Council will consider authorising the acquisition of part of 87 Skye Point Road, Coal Point, for environmental protection purposes.

Morisset (73 Dora Street) – proposed purchase

Council will consider authorising an application to the Minister for Local Government for approval to acquire part 73 Dora Street, Morisset.

Caves Beach – telecommunications facility

Council will consider approving a development application for a new telecommunications facility on Scenic Drive, Caves Beach.

Marks Point – recreation facility

Council will consider approving a development application for the relocation of the existing Belmont Bowling Club.

Adoption of the draft Charlestown Lions Park Master Plan

Council will consider adopting the amended Charlestown Lions Park Master Plan.

Re-establishment of alcohol restrictions for New Year’s Eve 2017 to 2021

Council will consider approving the re-establishment of alcohol restrictions in areas around Swansea, Wangi Wangi and Warners Bay.

Exhibition of draft Master Plan for Croudace Bay Sports Complex

Council will consider endorsing the exhibition of the draft Croudace Bay Sports Complex Master Plan.

Exhibition of Belmont Contributions Catchment Plan

Council will consider endorsing the exhibition of the draft Development Contributions Plan for the Belmont area.

Amendment to the North Cooranbong Planning Agreement

Council will consider entering into an amended Planning Agreement with Johnson Property Group for land in Cooranbong.

Community event funding – December allocation

Council will consider providing funding for the Hunter Track Classic, Lake Macquarie Lakefest and Rotary’s community forum – Let’s make a difference.
