Construction on The Boulevarde, looking east towards Victory Parade

Works to reinvigorate The Boulevarde at Toronto have progressed, with construction of Stage 5 of Toronto Streetscape Master Plan now under way.

Crews will work eastward from Pemell Street to the corner of Victory Parade over the next 12 weeks, weather permitting. This stage will see the continuation of themes and treatments from the previous section of the works, as we look to complete this end of the project area.

New kerb, footpaving and decks will enhance opportunities for outdoor dining, and provide a long-lasting and more easily maintained asset.

Council’s construction crews will carry out a mix of both night and day works to minimise disruption to trade and pedestrians as much as possible.

Council’s Manager City Projects, Adam Wakeman, said the Toronto Streetscape Master Plan is a major project for the local Toronto community.

“We’re about two-thirds of the way through this important project that will help modernise the Toronto town centre, improve access and generate new opportunities for economic activity,” Mr Wakeman said.

“Council thanks the community for its ongoing support and cooperation while we carry out these works.”
