Residents of Warners Bay, Croudace Bay, Eleebana, Lakelands and Macquarie Hills are invited to attend the launch of the newly formed Warners Bay Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group.
Council’s Manager Sustainability, Dean Chapman, said the formation of the Warners Bay Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group would add to the extensive number of Sustainable Neighbourhood Groups already in place across Lake Macquarie City.
“Sustainable Neighbourhood Groups are made up of local residents who care about their community and are committed to making their area more sustainable,” Mr Chapman said.
“Already, groups across Lake Macquarie have helped organise native plant swaps, Eco Angel clean-ups, emergency preparedness initiatives, expert talks and more.
“I would encourage anyone living in the area with an interest in sustainability to get involved in the new Warners Bay Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group to help make a difference in their community.”
The Warners Bay Area Sustainable Neighbourhood Group will be holding a launch of their local action plan at the popular ‘Music in the Podium’ event, Warners Bay Foreshore on Friday 24 March from 5pm. The action plan will highlight the group’s plans to improve sustainability and community connectedness in the Warners Bay Area.
