Strategic Plans on exhibition

Lake Macquarie City Council’s Events and Festivals Strategic Action Plan and Lake Mac Libraries Strategic Plan 2024-2028 are on public exhibition until Tuesday 21 May 2024.

The Events and Festivals Strategic Action Plan aims to lead and facilitate the successful and professional delivery of meaningful, creative, quality events for our community and visitors, enabling economic growth opportunities and promoting Lake Macquarie as a distinctive destination.

The Lake Mac Libraries Strategic Plan 2024-2028 is a comprehensive proposal that outlines Council's role to develop, invigorate and promote Lake Mac Libraries for our community. The plan details short, medium and long-term actions that aim to mitigate decreasing use in traditional library services and outline steps to introduce new and innovative activities.

Copies of the draft plans are available for viewing during the exhibition period at the following locations:

  • Council's Customer Service Centre, 126-138 Main Road, Speers Point
  • Lake Mac Libraries branches
  • Online at shape.lakemac.com.au

Written submissions on the draft plans should be received by Council before close of business on Tuesday 21 May 2024 and be addressed to, Arts Culture Tourism, Box 1906, Hunter Regional Mail Centre NSW 2310 or via email at [email protected]. Online submissions can be made via shape.lakemac.com.au.

Disclosure of Political Donations and Gifts: All persons who lodge a submission are required to declare any relevant political donations and/or gifts in accordance with Section 10.4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. An information and disclosure form is available in related information.

Council will release all submissions received upon request, in accordance with the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.
