Fifty Bob Circuit

Origin

Fifty Bob Circuit is named after the 1914 Vauxhall race car "Fifty Bob" which broke the 558-mile Melbourne to Sydney city-to-city driving record in 1916. This was the first time in Australian history that a car had made the trip faster than a train and marked an important milestone opening many people's minds to the possibilities of road travel. Fifty Bob was restored and housed for many years in the shed at 314 Warners Bay Road as part of the Adams family's extensive Veteran Car collection. The Adam's family developed and lived on the property for over 80 years.
