Our projects

Capital works are projects that build new or replace existing community infrastructure. They can include road improvements such as resurfacing or intersection upgrades, shared pathways, drainage improvements, new facilities such as sports centres, playgrounds and libraries, and environmental projects such as dune stabilisation.

This year, we will spend $111.5 million on capital projects.

  • Beach and aquatic facilities - $2.3m
  • Bridges - $10.9m
  • Community and sporting facilities - $27.7m
  • Footpaths, cycleways and shared paths - $2.9m
  • Emergency services support - $0.4m
  • Environmental enhancement - $1.4m
  • Libraries and cultural facilities - $2.0m
  • Parks and playgrounds - $2.8m
  • Road resealing, resurfacing and rehabilitation - $26.6m
  • Stormwater and drainage - $6.1m
  • Traffic and transport $2.2m
  • Waste management $3.4m

A further $22.8 million will be spent on other projects to support the works program.

The map below complements the 2024-2025 Operational Plan showing the works and actions we plan to undertake this financial year.

In our Operational Plan, we categorise the actions we will take to progress a capital project during the year in two stages.

Stage 1: Plan and develop

Plan and develop includes feasibility tasks such as site investigations, specialist studies, master planning, strategic planning and concept design. It also include the design phase such as civil or structural engineering, landscape design, architectural design, electrical design, hydraulic design, project approvals/development consent and the tender process.

Stage 2: Deliver

Deliver includes projects that will be in the construction phase in 2024-2025.
