Lake Macquarie Mayor Adam Shultz (ALP)
Lake Macquarie Mayor Adam Shultz has served as a Labor Councillor on Lake Macquarie City Council since 2016 and previously as Deputy Mayor of Lake Macquarie.
Mayor Adam Shultz is a born and bred local, having grown up in Warners Bay. Mayor Adam Shultz and his wife Cassandra, who grew up in Marmong Point, met while studying at the University of Newcastle and are now raising their three young children in Lake Macquarie.
Mayor Adam Shultz knows firsthand the issues families are facing and what they need from their council.
He brings the experience, energy and the skills required to serve our community as Mayor, and he will work hard to ensure the continued success of residents and businesses in Lake Macquarie.
Mayor Adam Shultz is serving in his third term on Council and will use his experience in financial services, small business, public policy, politics, and as a local father to advocate for improved opportunities for the city.
Mayor Adam Shultz believes Lake Macquarie can achieve economic growth and strategic diversification while maintaining the lifestyle and wellbeing of residents. He is passionate about facilitating policy settings that will promote job opportunities while enhancing the natural environment that residents enjoy.
He is well qualified to serve as Mayor, having attended public schools throughout Lake Macquarie before completing his tertiary education at the University of Newcastle with degrees in Business and Commerce and a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Sydney. Mayor Adam Shultz has also attained a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management, a Diploma of Financial Services and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
When not spending quality time with his family, he enjoys boating on Lake Macquarie, watching the Newcastle Knights and Newcastle Jets and honing his culinary skills on the BBQ.
