The mellifluous melodies and trademark pizzazz of jazz stalwart Vince Jones will ring loud and clear at Warners Bay Theatre next month when the trumpet-toting troubadour takes to the stage with his world class band.

The ARIA awarded artist will perform an intimate Sunday afternoon set on 11 August from 4pm to 6pm, playing the hits from his extensive 22 album catalogue.

A contemporary jazz mainstay, Jones will treat the audience to iconic classics including Trustworthy Little Sweethearts, Nature of Power, Rainbow Cake and many more.

Jones, who has performed at venues throughout Europe and the USA and been introduced by genre legend Quincey Jones, said he was looking forward to playing in Lake Mac.

“I really like that beautiful part of the world and I'm looking forward to playing at the Warners Bay Theatre by the water,” he said.

“Playing in theatres is the best way to listen to and enjoy music - no distractions just music."

The man who inspired celebrated Australian songstress Kate Ceberano to pursue stardom soared to success with ‘Come in Spinner’, selling more than half a million copies in its release decade and making history as the country’s highest selling jazz album of all time.

“I think the songs and the arrangements on that album are timeless and the listeners can’t resist them,” Jones said.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said it was a special treat to host a world-class musician of Jones’ quality.

“Not every day do you get a legend of jazz perform in your own backyard, so I encourage all music lovers across the city to secure a seat before it’s too late,” she said.

Tickets are $50 general admission or $45 for Lake Mac Arts members and can be purchased through the website.
