Council’s next meeting will take place at the Administrative Centre at Speers Point on Monday 24 June 2024, with an ordinary meeting starting from 6:30pm.

Making the rate for 2024-2025

Council will consider resolving to make the Ordinary Rates for the year commencing 1 July 2024.

The rates proposed by Council are based on the 5.6 per cent rate peg from the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) for the 2024-2025 financial year, and the latest valuation of land by the Valuer General, with a base date of 1 July 2022.

North West Catalyst Area Place Strategy

Council will consider approving the draft North West Lake Macquarie Catalyst Area Place Strategy for public exhibition.

The draft plan outlines Council’s vision for growth and development of the North West Lake Macquarie Catalyst Area over the next 20 years.

It also identifies key state and local infrastructure necessary to meet the vision.

Event funding program

Council will consider approving 25 applications for a total of $101,554 as part of the Event and Festival Funding Program 2024-2025 Round One.

Italian themed destination festival Lago Di Mac ($18,000), the ever-popular Morisset Lake Macquarie Show ($10,000) and contemporary dance performance ‘Break Through’ ($5000) at the Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima are among the big ticket items recommended for approval.

Traffic Facilities and Road Safety Committee

Council will consider approving two recommendations from the Traffic Facilities and Road Safety Committee. They are:

  • The signage and line marking associated with the construction of the Windale Community Hub in Lake Street and Shade Lane, Windale.
  • The reduction in length of double white (BB) line marking restrictions in Lenswood Way, Oakleigh Way, Goodwins Road and Watsons Road, Morisset.
