Planning Proposal and draft Teralba Heritage Conservation Area Plan
Council adopted the draft Planning Proposal to amend the Lake Macquarie Local Environmental Plan, and the revised draft Teralba Heritage Conservation Area Plan.
Exhibition of draft Planning Proposal – former Pasminco site
Council endorsed the draft Planning Proposal seeking to rezone land and increase building heights at 144 and 146 Munibung Road, Boolaroo.

Public exhibition of draft Community Engagement Strategy
Council discussed placing the draft Community Engagement Strategy on public exhibition for a period of at least 28 days.
Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said that seeking feedback and input into major projects, developments, events and proposals helps ensure the diversity of voices and opinions in our community are heard.
“Engagement keeps the community informed about what we do and how it might affect them. The other critical element is listening to those voices, taking what they say into account to then help shape what we do” Cr Fraser said.
Requests for donations – 2022-2023 annual round of the donations program
Council discussed approving nine donations for a total of $16,869 in the annual round of requests.
Proposed acquisition for road widening at Wentworth Road, Cardiff
Council discussed approving the acquisition of a small portion of 8 Wentworth Road, Cardiff, to facilitate a footpath upgrade.
Proposed purchase – part 187 Skye Point Road, Coal Point
Council discussed approving the purchase of part of 187 Skye Point Road, Coal Point, for environmental conservation purposes.
Public exhibition of the draft Destination Management Plan 2022-2026
Council discussed placing the draft Destination Management Plan 2022-2026 on public exhibition for a period of at least 28 days.
Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said the plan captures and presents information, learnings and actions identified through recent global impacts to tourist behaviours, industry consultation, sector research, regional collaborations and visitor trends.
“There have been considerable changes to the tourism sector over recent years, therefore we are committed to the delivery of a long-term vision and tactical plan to continue to grow tourism in Lake Macquarie,” Cr Fraser said.

Council discussed placing the draft Heritage and Museum Strategy 2022-2026 on public exhibition for a period of at least 28 days.
Renewal of leases to surf life saving clubs in Lake Macquarie
Council deferred the matter, pending further consultation with Councillors.
Extension of contract – Toronto and Morisset Swim Centre facility management
Council discussed extending current contracts and not invite tenders for the facility management of Toronto Swim Centre and Morisset Swim Centre for a period of nine months.
