Offering disaster recovery assistance to NSW councils affected by east coast flooding in February and March 2022

Council authorised the use of Council resources to be applied to disaster recovery, in Natural Disaster Declared LGAs.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said while Lake Macquarie was on alert for the rain event, the city has been relatively unscathed.

“I am very grateful we are in a position to help other LGAs affected by the recent floods, and that we have capable staff who willingly put themselves forward to be away from home to assist those in greater need.”
