Disclosure of pecuniary interests

Council noted the tabling of disclosures by Councillors and designated persons returns for the period 1 July 2022 to 20 June 2023.

Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee Charter

Council approved rescinding the existing Audit Risk and Improvement Committee charter and adopting a revised version. Council also approved adopting a new Internal Audit Charter.

Amendments to fees and charges 2023-2024

Council approved placing the amendments to Fees and Charges 2023-2024 on public exhibition for at least 28 days, accepting submissions during this time and receiving a report detailing feedback received during exhibition.

Investment report – September 2023

Council approved receiving and noting a report identifying all money Council has invested under section 625 of the Local Government Act 1993.

Residential subdivision – 45 Victoria Street, Teralba

Council approved a development application for a one into 19 lot Torrens title subdivision at 45 Victoria Street, Teralba, subject to conditions of consent.

Planning proposal – 144, 144C and 146 Munibung Road, Boolaroo

Council approved noting the summary of submissions received during public exhibition and outcomes of state agency consultation and endorsing the planning proposal to amend the Lake Macquarie Local Environment Plan 2014 (LMLEP). The amendments relate to rezoning land and increasing building heights.

Council will request that the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces make the amendment to the LMLEP 2014 and will notify those who made a submission of Council’s decision.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said rezoning the land would create opportunities to develop public facilities and economic opportunities in the North West Catalyst Area precinct.

“The availability of this land is an exciting opportunity to deliver social, economic and liveability outcomes in a key location for one of Lake Macquarie’s key development sites,” she said.

Trinity Point Planning Proposal – outcomes of public exhibition

Council noted the submissions received during public exhibition relating to a planning proposal at Trinity Point and endorsed the planning proposal.

Council will request the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces make the amendment to the LMLEP 2014 and will notify those who made a submission of Council’s decision.

SWITCH 2023 – NSW Public Libraries Association annual conference

Council nominated Councillor Madeline Bishop to attend SWITCH 2023, the NSW Public Libraries Association annual conference to be held in Penrith from 14-17 November 2023.
