Chief Executive Officer’s Performance Review

Council noted a Mayoral Minute on the results of the 2022 review of the Chief Executive Officer’s performance.

Election of Deputy Mayor

Council elected Councillor Adam Shultz as Deputy Mayor for a term of one year to September 2023.

Investment Report – July 2022

Council received and noted a report identifying all money Council has invested under section 625 of the Local Government Act 1993.

Planning proposal Morisset Park – 69C, 81, 81D and 85 Trinity Point Drive

Council requested a gateway determination from the Department of Planning and Environment in relation to the draft planning proposal for Morisset Park.

Council will also undertake consultation and place the planning proposal on exhibition, subject to the outcome of the gateway determination.

Adoption Catherine Hill Bay Precincts Master Plan

Council adopted the Catherine Hill Bay Precincts Master Plan.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said adoption of the master plan was an important step in supporting the growth of Catherine Hill Bay.

“Catherine Hill Bay is a growing suburb that is rich in history and scenic beauty,” Cr Fraser said.

“This master plan will help ensure that residents of Catherine Hill Bay have access to the community, recreation and sporting infrastructure they need, while preserving the unique character of this iconic location.

“Thank you to everybody who took the time to provide feedback on the master plan during consultation and public exhibition – you’ve helped us reach this important milestone.”

Recommendations of the Traffic Facilities and Road Safety Committee

Council approved signage and line marking plans associated with the upgrade of the intersection of Freemans Drive and Patrick Drive, Cooranbong, and will install a give way restriction at the intersection of Elizabeth and Evelyn streets and Hollows Place, Floraville.

Council site inspection – Proposed shared pathway – Lonus Avenue, Whitebridge

Council approved further investigations of a resident’s concerns and assessment of potential risks that can be mitigated during project development and design of a proposed shared pathway at Lonus Avenue, Whitebridge, with a Councillor workshop to follow.

Public exhibition of draft Aquatic Facilities Strategy

Council will exhibit the draft Aquatic Facilities Strategy and associated documents for at least 28 days.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said providing quality aquatic facilities was an important part of supporting the city’s active lifestyle.

“Whether it’s providing health and fitness opportunities through squad training and our Aqua Fit classes, or Learn to Swim lessons for kids, it’s vital that our community feels confident and safe in the water,” Cr Fraser said.

“Investing in the sound management of our city’s swim centres is one way we can support this.”
