June review of the Operational Plan and Budget 2021-2022

Council received and noted the status of the Delivery Program strategies and Operational Plan actions for 2021-2022, and adopted variations to the 2021-2022 budget.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said the status of Council’s Delivery Program and Operational Plan reflected the city’s ongoing recovery after the challenges posed by COVID-19.

“We achieved 92 per cent of actions, compared to 90 percent the previous year, which demonstrates our resilience as a city as we continue to adapt to the ongoing challenges of the pandemic,” Cr Fraser said.

“Highlights for the final quarter include the commencement of construction of the Windale Hub, completion of The Weir Bridge at Barnsley and successful delivery of the Wangi Live event series as part of the NSW Government’s Special Entertainment Precincts pilot.”

Draft Financial Statements for the year ended 30 June 2022

Council received and noted the 2021-2022 Financial Statements.

Alterations and additions to Belmont Golf Club, Marks Point

Council endorsed the development standard variation for a proposal involving the erection of 24m-high safety fencing for a driving range at Belmont Golf Club. Council also endorsed alterations and additions such as a new amenities building, covered seating areas, pavilion, and shading of driving range tee areas.

Adoption of Planning Proposal and draft Heritage Conservation Area Plan for Catherine Hill Bay

Council endorsed the planning proposal for the draft Catherine Hill Bay Heritage Conservation Area Plan.

2022 Local Government NSW Annual Conference

Council nominated Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser and Councillors Madeline Bishop, Jack Antcliff, Brian Adamthwaite, Luke Cubis, Adam Shultz and Christine Buckley to attend the annual Local Government NSW Conference to be held at the Hunter Valley from 23-25 October 2022.

Public exhibition of the draft Code of Meeting Practice

Council will place the draft Code of Meeting Practice on public exhibition for a period of at least 28 days.

North Ward Site Inspection – Drainage – 27 Government Road, Holmesville

Council approved Council staff continuing to investigate options and consult with the landowner to resolve drainage issues at 27 Government Road, Holmesville.  

Adoption of the Ageing Population Strategy 2022-2026

Council adopted the updated Ageing Population Strategy 2022-2026.

Renewal of leases to surf life saving clubs in Lake Macquarie

Council approved the lease contribution model for surf life saving clubs in Lake Macquarie.
