Nathan Swadling trains and inspires those who step into his gym, from title contenders to office workers seeking fun and fitness. Swadling’s stable includes state title holders, national contenders, juniors gaining confidence and fitness, and a corporate program that swiftly transitions people from clocking off to stepping into the ring. Nathan also established a boxing program for individuals with physical and mental disabilities, fostering inclusivity since 2016 and welcoming all to his gym to enhance their boxing and life skills.

We asked Nathan a few questions about his passion for Lake Macquarie.

Why do you love doing what you do in Lake Macquarie?

Boxing has been a part of my life since I can remember; it has moulded my everyday existence since I was a boy. I couldn’t ask for a better place to be than Lake Macquarie. BoxCamp sits almost right in the middle of Redhead & Dudley Beach and the lake.

What drew you to Lake Macquarie and how has your experience been living here?

It was absolutely the water. We are surrounded by some of the greatest water spots in Australia.

Why do you love living in Lake Macquarie?

Besides the location and the scenic aspect, I’ve encountered many like-minded people who are driven and motivated. Positivity breeds positivity.

What are some hidden gems or lesser-known perks about living in Lake Macquarie that you think more people should know about?

The hidden cultures that you can find on almost every corner. Of course, BoxCamp is one, but I’m sure the more people scratch around as they become local or familiar, they will find many.
