Patrolled beaches

Council lifeguards patrol Blacksmiths, Catherine Hill Bay, Caves Beach and Redhead beaches annually from the September/October school holidays through to April.

Patrol times are Monday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm. Local Surf Life Saving Club volunteers also patrol, their patrol times are dependant on their clubs and holiday periods. Patrol times may extend during busy or dangerous conditions.

SMART drumlines are being deployed daily by Department of Primary Industries (DPI), from Dudley to Catherine Hill Bay. SMART drumlines are in addition to existing shark nets and are designed to intercept and catch sharks as they travel along the coastline.
