Are you interested in the heritage and history of Lake Macquarie? Are you a member of a local historical society, family history group or historical museum?
The Heritage Committee is an opportunity for local people with an interest in heritage to be involved in promoting the natural, cultural, and historic heritage of Lake Macquarie and ensuring it continues to have a strong sense of place and identity.
The roles of the Heritage Committee include assessing Local Heritage Places grant applications, assisting Council with the development of policies, plans and strategies regarding the management of local heritage, recommending projects for grant funding and advising Council on heritage-related matters which are of interest to the community.
Four positions on the Committee are available for interested individuals associated with the promotion, conservation and exploration of heritage. The committee meets twice a year.
