The Cooranbong, Morisset and Wyee areas have considerable opportunities for urban development. It is also identified in the Greater Newcastle Metropolitan Plan to be a location of significant population and employment growth.
Its position near the Central Coast, M1 Pacific Motorway and Northern Rail Line makes this area a sensible location for growth and affordable and diverse housing development with easy access to nearby population and employment areas and main transport infrastructure.
There are a number of opportunities for this identified growth area, including the potential expansion of commercial and residential development to the south of the Morisset train station, as well as the expansion of the nearby industrial area to capitalise on its access to the M1 Motorway.
