About the Artist

Marian Marcatili is a practicing ceramic artist exploring various forms of the art in response to the natural beauty of the environment and surrounds of Lake Macquarie. After relocating from Sydney in 2013, Marian’s works have been inspired by the environment of the lake and bushland that surrounds her, which she embraces and incorporates into her works, to create a sense of place and identity. Working mainly in porcelain Marian is currently exploring surface textures that are inspired by locally found plant species or the fluid nature of the lake itself.

Although all best efforts are made to ensure works remain intact, please note that sometimes clay items do not survive the firing process.
