Fast & Loud Festival
The 2024 Fast & Loud Festival, hosted by Lake Macquarie City Council, features a street parade, Offshore Superboat and Powerboats races, aerial displays by Redbull pilot Matt Hall.
For the first time ever, Fast and Loud Festival will close the main streets of Belmont with live entertainment from Darlinghurst, and Warners Bay with a street parade of Superboats, Powerboats and vintage cars.
Five live sites will pop-up around the lake over the weekend, offering the best vantage points to watch the Powerboat and Superboat races and aerial display, featuring live music, roving entertainment, and food and market stalls. The Australian Powerboats will race from 11am until approx. 4.30pm each day, launching from the boat ramp at Rathmines Park.
The Superboats will race from Midday until 3pm each day and are visible all the way from Eleebana, through to Warners Bay and Speers Point, as well as the start/finish line at Marmong Point, where the pit area at Empire Marina is accessible to all.
The Superboats racing is conducted in two main categories that are put on the course at the different times to each other. The first is speed restricted, where the name of the game is to be as close to the maximum as possible, without going over. The second is unlimited, and these boats are immediately identifiable by having enclosed cockpits, much like a fighter jet does. It's intense, often very close, and certainly extremely fast.
For some people, the crowds and noise of big events can be overwhelming, therefore this year’s festival we will have noise cancelling headphones available at no cost. These headphones can be accessed for hire at the mobile Visitor Information Kiosks Warners Bay foreshore.
