The Westlakes Senior Swing band is a small group focused on improving musical skills while having fun in a friendly environment. The band includes woodwinds, brass, keyboard, bass, and a vocalist.
The Westlakes Senior Swing Band does not charge for performances as they focus on spreading music throughout the community. They practice from 2-4pm on Wednesday afternoons at the Rathmines Music Centre and are keen to increase their numbers.
The band welcomes individuals who have a reasonable level of musical ability and literacy, as well as an interest in jazz, blues and rock music. They are particularly interested in saxophonists, brass and drummers.
